Power to the People by Pavel Tsatsouline
This
was Chris's first venture into serious strength training
literature. He can now deadlift two-and-a-half-times
his own bodyweight (and he's no deadlift specialist).
Truly one of the best strength training books around.
It only focuses on a few exercises, but the principles can
be applied endlessly...
Here's
what the Dragondoor website says...
-
What
if we told you: "YOU COULD OWN A WORLD CLASS BODY—whatever
your present condition—by doing only two exercises, for
twenty minutes a day?"
-
And
we are talking about a world class body—a body so lean,
ripped and powerful looking, you won’t believe your own
reflection when you catch yourself in the mirror.
-
And
we do mean whatever your present condition—we don’t care
if you’re currently an abject pipsqueak, a rotund couch
potato, or any other sorry-excuse-for-a-human-being.
-
And
what if we told you, "YOU CAN DO IT without a single
supplement, without having to waste your time at a gym and
with only a 150 bucks of simple equipment?"
-
And
what if we told you, "With only two exercises for twenty
minutes a day, you’ll not only be stronger than you’ve
ever been in your life, but you’ll have higher energy and
better performance in whatever you do?"
-
And
what if we told you, "You can have an instant download of
the world’s absolutely most effective strength secrets?
You can possess exactly the same knowledge that created
world-champion athletes—and the strongest bodies of their
generation?"

The Naked Warrior
by Pavel Tsatsouline
Great book about using
certain techniques to maximise your strength. We love
it.
Here's what the
Dragondoor site says...
Have you
noticed—the greater a man's skill, the more he achieves with
less? And the skill of strength is no exception. From the
ancient days of Greek wrestling, to the jealously guarded
secrets of Chinese Kung Fu masters, to the hard men of
modern spec ops, warriors and allied strongmen have
developed an amazing array of skills for generating inhuman
strength.
But these skills
have been scattered far and wide, held closely secret, or
communicated in a piecemeal fashion that has left most of us
frustrated and far from reaching our true strength
potential.
Now, for the
first time, Russian strength expert and former Spetsnaz
instructor Pavel has gathered many of these devastating
techniques into one highly teachable skill set. In The
Naked Warrior Pavel reveals exactly what it takes to be
super-strong in minimum time—when your body is your only
tool.
-
Gain more
brute strength in days than you did in years
of bodybuilding or calisthenics
-
Discover the martial secrets of
instant power generation—for rapid surges in applied
strength
-
Discover how to get a
world-class powerlifter's quality workout—using your body
only
-
Master the one-arm/one-leg
pushup for crushing upper body force
-
Forge super-piston, never-quit
legs with the Spetsnaz favorite "Pistol"
-
Discover the magic of "GTG"—guaranteed
the world's most effective strength routine
-
Be tow-truck strong—yet possess
the rugged looks of a stripped-down racer
-
Get a harder, firmer,
functionally-fitter body—and be as resilient as hell
whatever you face
-
No gym, no weights, no problem—get
a dynamite strength workout at a moment's notice—wherever
you are

The CrossFit
Journal
As if the amount
of info on the main Crossfit.com site wasn't enough for you,
they also produce this monthly journal of fitness articles
and concepts.
This is a must
have. If we find out you don't subscribe, we'll be
very angry (but only 'cos we care). The info in these
journals is light years ahead of what most fitness sources
are pumping out. We love it and hence we're
shamelessly promoting it.
It's only $25
(that's dirt cheap for what you get) for an annual
subscription and for that you get 12 issues delivered
directly into your inbox in PDF format.
You
can download a free issue (one of the best fitness resources
ever incidentally) here...
